I became interested in electronics when I was 11. The first project I ever made was an electric shocker. It was mounded in a small plastic box. It used a transformer from a 240 - 6v mains adapter. When a toggle switch was flicked one way a capacitor was charged and when it was flicked the other way the capacitor discharged through the transformer creating a high voltage pulse on the output of the transformer which went through whoever was holding onto the output at the time. It was quite a jolt. A short time after that I upgraded it to use a relay oscillator and then a single transistor oscillator and finally a 555 timer oscillator which I still have and it is still very painful. At the moment I am making a lot of logic circuits. I still make high voltage circuits every now and again.

This is where I keep all my electronic components so I can find the right ones whenever I wish. Eash draw contains components grouped into certain categeries e.g. NPN transistors in one draw and PNP in another. It is good that I don't always have to go to Maplin or order from farnell whenever I need components.

This is the electronics magazine that I get every month. I always has circuits inside that can be made and there is usually some PIC projects every month as well.
